Noemi Bueno

Assistant Director, Office of Housing Services

Noemi Bueno began as evening part-time employee at CUIMC in 1988 while going to school during the day; she soon realized the medical center would be an “awesome” place to work. Today, she is proud to be a part of the Office of Housing Services, and enjoys working with student residents from all over the world.

Celebrating Her Heritage

Christmas Eve is a big celebration in the Dominican Republic. Growing up, we listened to merengue, and ate lots of delicious foods related to our culture (especially sancocho). We also enjoyed family gatherings and connecting with family who live in the Dominican Republic.

Our culture loves and embraces everyone from all backgrounds. When traveling to the Dominican Republic, I always observe people from other countries enjoying the climate, food, and music. It’s always a great experience.

Biggest Inspiration

My mom. She raised three kids on her own and made it look seamless.  As a parent today, I know being a parent is not an easy job.

Supporting CUIMC during the Pandemic

I felt a sense of responsibility to be on campus during the pandemic because I see this is a home-away-from-home. After meeting parents during annual move-ins, I know how much they trust us with caring for their children, especially during challenging times.

We have a wonderful group of employees who are a pleasure to work with and dedicate themselves to doing an outstanding job. Everyone made sure to keep our residences clean and disinfected, provided masks, hand sanitizer, and placed proper signage throughout our residential buildings/spaces.
