Faces of Facilities
Meet the people who make Facilities what it is.

It's been a big summer across the Facilities Management landscape. Our engineering and custodial teams responded quickly and thoroughly during and after some huge storms. From surprise inspections to employee achievements, our Campus Life Safety team continues to earn top marks. Operations offered a massive employee parking initiative over the summer and significantly improved flood and water intrusion response in most buildings. Space Planning continues to successfully navigate the challenges of growing classroom needs, administrative office management, and planning for future labs and research spaces. Strategic Communications expanded its reach to facilitate customers moving into new spaces, to meet growing needs of campus partners, and to support teams in transition. SYPE intern Tiana Crespo (featured below) spent her summer with Strategic Communications learning about and supporting those efforts.
Perhaps some of the biggest accomplishments this summer came through Capital Project Management as we completed the new Hammer 2 lab and Presbyterian 18 administrative spaces for the Department of Ophthalmology. A huge Facilities shout-out to Fernando Bedoya (featured below), associate director, and Jerry Wang, project manager, for their work! Another member of the team, Joe Francomano (featured below), CARE group manager, has been updating and renovating restrooms, corridors, lighting, and other public spaces across the campus. His efforts modernize many of the things we take for granted every day and make our campus more accessible. Thanks for all that you do, Joe.
This is going to be another great year for CUIMC and Facilities Management, so stay tuned to our Faces of Facilities campaign too learn more about who we are!
