Campus-Wide Fume Hood Maintenance Project

Beginning in early July 2026, CUIMC Facilities Management will begin a campus-wide fume hood maintenance and safety upgrade project. This work includes replacing velocity monitors, adjusting sashes, and modifying light fixtures to support regulatory compliance and safe fume hood operation.

What to Expect

• Before the scheduled maintenance period, a project representative will visit affected labs to answer questions or address any issues.
• Lab personnel must suspend all work in affected fume hoods prior to the designated maintenance period, remove all chemical containers, equipment, and other materials from affected fume hoods, and safely store them elsewhere in the lab.
• Each fume hood is expected to be out of service for approximately two business days. Please do not use fume hoods during their designated maintenance period.
