Meet Rachell Burgos

Rachell Burgos joined the Facilities Management team as our customer experience coordinator in November 2021. Since then, she has been a welcome addition to the team in the Facilities Customer Service Center and often receives praise from customers and co-workers alike.

Most memorable CUIMC moment?  

"We have a leak!" The first time I had to deal with a leak; it was pretty hectic getting touch in with everybody. It took a while, but we figured it out. Everyone pulled through to help me out. 

Who has made the biggest impression on you during your time here? 

Erin James (executive director, Strategic Communications), Fred Arce (assistant director, Facilities Engineering), James Thompson (assistant vice president, Facilities Engineering), and Francis Lantigua (assistant director, Custodial Operations). They are all people who love what they do and are passionate about it.

Favorite thing about your current role? 

That's easy, the people. I get to interact with everyone and see a little bit of everything. It's really interesting to me.

What is your favorite thing about Washington Heights? 

Everything—this is my neighborhood. I grew up here, I am Dominican, and it feels like home to me.

What's one piece of advice you'd give to your younger self? 

Keep going. You are doing great! 

Funny CUIMC story? 

Last Halloween, I came dressed as our head mechanic, Vincent Rascona.
