  • P&S Entrance Renovation, May 27th through August 3rd

    From May 27 until August 3, the entrance to the College of Physicians and Surgeons building, as well as the staircase in front of the dean’s suite, will be closed for renovations. During this time, individuals should use accessible entrances located at the William Black Building, 650 West 168th St., or the Vanderbilt Clinic, 622 West 168th St.

  • Heat Advisory: Please Conserve

    URGENT REQUEST TO CONSERVE ENERGY A heat advisory has been issued, and Con Edison has asked all institutional sites to reduce power usage. In turn, we ask all faculty and staff to conserve energy during this period of high demand and record-breaking temperatures. Both the University and Hospital have reduced grid-based electrical consumption by running our emergency power generation systems during peak-demand times and have otherwise further reduced energy consumption.

  • Construction of Medical and Graduate Education Building to begin late summer

    The 14-story glass tower was designed by world-renowned, New York-based architects Diller Scofidio + Renfro, in collaboration with Gensler. It will include technology-rich classrooms, an advanced simulation center, an auditorium, and unique study spaces to encourage interdisciplinary learning and teamwork. The building, located at 104 Haven Ave., is anticipated to open in 2016.

    The first meeting of the CUMC Green Team will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 4 PM within the Hammer Building, Room LL 103. Please feel free to bring colleagues who are interested, as well. This will be an open meeting for us to introduce ourselves, learn about what CUMC is currently doing and brainstorm our Green Team goals for a sustainable CUMC. Faculty, staff and students (including existing EcoReps) are welcome. We’ll have a fun little welcome gift for you, too!
