VP&S Bldg.: Domestic Water Outage, Basement through 9th Floor, Aug. 5

Due to emergency repairs, domestic water service will be temporarily unavailable from the basement through the 9th floor of the Vagelos College of Physician and Surgeons Building from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2022. Hot and cold water will be unavailable on the affected floors during this time; restrooms also will be inoperable on the affected floors. Please use nearby restrooms in the William Black Building and Vanderbilt Clinic.

It is suggested that all laboratory work with hazardous materials–including chemicals, biological, and radiological materials—from the basement through the 9th floor of the VP&S Building be suspended while water service is unavailable due to the lack of available water for emergency eyewashes, handheld deluge hoses, and overhead emergency showers. Laboratories should perform their routine, weekly performance test on each emergency eyewash and handheld deluge hose once water services resume normal operations to verify proper equipment function.

Once work is completed, please allow faucets to run for 3-4 minutes to ensure constant flow and pressure. Water may appear brown at first but will turn clear as it continues to run.
