COVID-19 Vaccine: Roll Up Your Sleeves and Get Vaccinated!

April 2021 Safety Topic

The impact of COVID-19 on our lives, our work, and our activities has affected us all. For more than a year, you’ve kept Facilities Management & Campus Services running through one of the most challenging times in our history. Now, the responsibility is ours as a community to help stop this virus. Now we have a new, safe, and effective tool to help us do that…COVID-19 vaccines!

It takes everyone:
We ask you to join us in protecting our communities by getting vaccinated. Getting vaccinated creates one more layer of protection for you, your coworkers, your family, and your loved ones.

Important things to know about COVID-19 vaccinations:

  • All COVID-19 vaccines available in the US are very effective at preventing the disease.
  • The most common side effects are pain in the arm where you received the shot, feeling tired, headache, body aches, chills, and fever.
  • Stopping a pandemic requires using all the tools we have available - wearing masks, physical distancing, washing hands frequently, and getting vaccinated.

We want the pandemic to be over. We want you all to continue to feel safe at work and in your community and to be able to shake hands with your coworkers.

We all play a part in combatting the virus, and you are key. Please make an appointment to get your COVID-19 vaccination by going to the VaccineTogetherNY website; you can visit Vaccinefinder.org to search for vaccination locations near where you live.

If you have questions about COVID-19 vaccines, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) webpage or speak with your supervisor or a member of the Campus Life Safety & Regulatory Compliance team.
