Black Bldg. Sidewalk Bridge Installation Beginning Aug. 28

We will be installing a sidewalk bridge at the William Black Building, along Fort Washington Avenue near the building's loading dock entrance, beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 28. We currently anticipate the sidewalk bridge installation will be completed by Tuesday, September 1.

·         While the sidewalk bridge is being constructed, the entrance to the Black Building/VP&S loading dock will remain accessible; however, there will be short periods in which the loading dock will be blocked. Representatives onsite will coordinate with delivery drivers to minimize any impact.

·         Additionally, bicycles located on the bicycle rack located outside of the Black Building will need to be removed by 11 p.m. on Thursday, August 27. The bicycle rack will be removed temporarily during the sidewalk bridge installation, and will be returned once the installation is completed. Any bike left after 12 a.m. on Friday, August 28 will be removed.

Once the sidewalk bridge is complete, it will remain in place through the end of this year. For any questions or concerns related to the sidewalk bridge installation, please contact CUIMC Facilities Management at cumc.facilities@columbia.edu or 212-305-HELP (4357), option 3.
