Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) is a leader in providing comprehensive patient care. Recognizing that each patient is unique, it sought to differentiate itself in a competitive market by creating a new medical office that emphasizes patient experience and team-based care. This new flagship primary care facility, located in the Upper West Side, embodies how the practice of medicine is transforming to meet patients’ needs and make seeking quality care easier than ever.

Project Location: 2702 Broadway, New York, NY
Client: ColumbiaDoctors
Project Program: To build a new state-of-the-art, patient-centered care practice that will be in-demand and quickly respond to the medical needs of the community. Co-locating with other specialties and other providers to accommodate a variety of medical needs including pediatric and adult primary care, this location features eight exam rooms, phlebotomy labs, and additional staff support spaces. The project also includes the creation of design standards for future additional primary care facilities in New York and surrounding communities.

Special Feature(s) or Highlight(s): On-Stage and Off-Stage practice so the patient never sees the back office of the practice. Patient hallway is praised by patients as a welcoming space that has beautiful natural light and digital signage for self-rooming and education.
