Locks and Keys

Locks

We install, replace, and service locks.

For safety and security reasons, locks that are not keyed off the master key system cannot be installed. If you need a lock that is not on the system due to unusual security requirements, you'll need to obtain approval from Public Safety and provide a copy of the key. Contact Public Safety at 212-305-8100 for more information.

For ID access or card reader repair, submit a request to Public Safety.

If you have been locked out of a non-residential space, call Public Safety at 212-305-8100. The locksmith is on site Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

If you have been locked out of a residential space, contact the Office of Housing Services at 212-305-HELP (4357), option 2; after-hours, contact your front desk.

Cost

For non-residential spaces, there is a charge for lock service based on an hourly labor rate, plus the cost of materials.

If you are in a residential space and have locked yourself out of your apartment, there is a $50 charge for lockout assistance.
