Hammer Bldg.: 9th Floor Temporary Steam Shutdown, Nov. 27

Steam systems will be temporarily unavailable on the 9th floor of Hammer Health Sciences Center from 7 a.m. to approximately 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, due to repairs.

During this time, there will be no hot water, sterilization, autoclaves, steam tables, or dishwashers available on the 9th floor of the building. Heat will also be disrupted on the 9th floor; occupants on that floor may experience unusually cold temperatures while the work is being completed. Steam-related services will remain operational throughout the rest of the building while the work is being completed.

• Important for 9th floor occupants only: Eyewash devices and overhead emergency shower units will be functional on the 9th floor but will be supplied with cold water only. Accordingly, if your lab is located on the 9th floor please consider limiting research operations that have significant potential for splash or face and bodily exposure during the shutdown.
