Black Bldg. Urgent Steam Shutdown, Mar. 4

Steam systems are currently unavailable throughout the 17th floor of the William Black Building due to emergency repairs. We anticipate steam service will remain unavailable until approximately 7 p.m. today, March 4.

• While we conduct the repairs, there will be no hot water, heating, sterilization, autoclaves, steam tables, or dishwashers available throughout the building.

   

• During this time, occupants also may notice slightly cooler building temperatures.

   

• Eyewash devices and overhead emergency shower units will be functional but will be supplied with cold water only. Accordingly, please consider limiting research operations that have significant potential for splash or face and bodily exposure during the shutdown.
