51 Audubon Emergency Generator Testing, Oct. 16, 5-7 p.m.
October 15, 2025
We will be testing the emergency generator that serves 51 Audubon from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 16.
What to Expect:
- During the tests, all equipment plugged into EMERGENCY outlets will experience a temporary disturbance or “blip” as power is transferred from Con Edison (normal power) to the emergency generators (emergency power).
- Overhead lighting will be affected, but emergency power lighting (hallways and stairwells) will remain operational throughout the shutdown.
- Approximately two hours later, Facilities personnel will transfer all loads from emergency power back to normal Con Edison power.
- Anyone working with critical equipment should make frequent rounds to ensure all equipment functions properly.
In preparation for the upcoming testing, please take the following precautionary steps before you leave on Thursday:
- Save all files and important documents.
- Completely turn off all computers and laptops.
- Turn off all other electronic devices and non-essential equipment.
