Meet Damaris Brito

Damaris Brito may have joined Facilities Management as the assistant director of Campus Services in 2022, but she’s no stranger to the CUIMC campus. Before joining the team, Damaris served as a regional manager for SP Plus Corporation, where she oversaw daily operations for numerous parking facilities, including several at the medical center.  

During the holiday season, Damaris finds joy in giving her time to others.  

What’s your favorite gift you have ever received?

My brother is in the United States Army. Six years ago he surprised all of us by coming home for the holidays; at that time, we hadn’t seen him for 10 years.

What’s your favorite thing to do in NYC during the holiday season?

I love to spend a whole day in the city. We will have breakfast with Santa, and then pass the Macy’s Store and head towards Rockefeller Center. We go skating and then stop by the Candy Cottage of Christmas Magic inside Rockefeller Center and they have skating. Last month, I surprised my family with Rockettes tickets! My fiancée is from Pennsylvania and has never been.

Do you have any holiday traditions?

We make Santa his milk and cookies. Then, at midnight on Christmas Day, the kids can open all of their gifts. In the morning, we sneak Santa’s gifts under the tree, which they see later in the morning. I make the kids write letters to Santa—according to them, Santa gives the best gifts!
