Information for Community Parking
As part of the New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) interim Haven Plaza, residents of the area surrounding Haven Plaza are eligible to take part in one of several parking opportunities offered through CUIMC Parking:
- Free Community Parking Lottery (17 parking spots)
- Discounted Community Evening/Overnight Parking (up to 100 parking spots)
Information on eligibility criteria for each community parking option, as well as how to apply, are listed below.

Information for Free Community Parking Lottery
Beginning on Tuesday, May 28, Columbia University Irving Medical Center will offer 17 free parking spaces for residents of the area surrounding Haven Avenue. The free parking spaces will be available at CUIMC parking lots for up to 18 months. The recipients of the 17 free parking spaces will be chosen via lottery.
How to Apply For the Free Community Parking Lottery
- To participate in the lottery, please complete the Community Parking Lottery Application (.pdf) and send it to gca@cumc.columbia.edu by Wednesday, May 22, 2019. Applications may also be dropped off at the CUIMC Office of Government & Community Affairs, which is located at 51 Audubon Avenue, 8th Floor.
- The lottery will take place at Community Board 12 at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019.
- The free 17 parking spaces are non-transferrable.

Eligibility Criteria
- In order to be eligible for the free community parking space lottery, residents must prove that they live in the Haven Avenue area.
- Only one application (one car per household) will be entered in the drawing.
- Selected individuals must comply with all CUIMC parking rules and regulations.
- CU, CUIMC, NYP and NYSPSI employees and affiliates are not eligible.

Information for Discounted Community Evening/Overnight Parking
Beginning on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, Columbia University Irving Medical Center will offer up to 100 discounted evening/overnight parking spaces for residents of the area surrounding Haven Avenue. The parking spaces will be available at CUIMC parking lot located at the Lasker Biomedical Research Building, at the corner of 165th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue.
How to Apply For Discounted Community Evening/Overnight Parking
- Please complete the Discounted Community Parking Evening/Overnight Parking Application.
- Applications may also be dropped off at the CUIMC Parking office, which is located at 617 West 168th Street, Suite 139, New York, NY 10032 (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
- The discounted community evening/overnight parking spaces are non-transferrable.

Eligibility Criteria
- In order to be eligible for the discounted community evening/overnight parking, residents must prove that they live in the Haven Avenue area.
- Only one application per household is eligible (one vehicle).
- Must comply with overnight parking hours: 6 p.m.to 7 a.m., 7 days per week, unless otherwise noted. Late fees will be assessed if a vehicle is not removed by 7 a.m.
- Must comply with all CUIMC parking rules and regulations.
- CU, CUIMC, NYP and NYSPSI employees and affiliates are not eligible.
- Applications will be accepted until capacity is reached at the Lasker Parking Lot.
