Most memorable CU/CUIMC moment?

Graduating from Columbia's School of General Studies and Mailman School of Public Health are my favorite moments.

What is your favorite thing about Washington Heights.

I was born in Cuba but raised here in Washington Heights. I've always loved the culture of this neighborhood!

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Originally, I wanted to be a writer. My bachelor's degree is in writing and literature.

What brings you joy or is something that makes you smile?

I love dogs and children. In fact, in 2007, I went to Ecudador on a medical mission. I served as a translator and assisted a group of surgeons who helped children and young adults with cleft palates. I felt like I'd found my calling. I'd love to do that again.

Advice to your your younger self?

Do not be in such a rush.

How would you describe yourself in one word?

Determined; it is why I do not give up.
